Recast was born on the water — and in the garage.

We’re two friends who love fishing, but in very different ways. One of us is a hardcore angler, the kind who wakes up before sunrise, knows every knot by name, and has more rods than room. The other? A casual weekender with one setup, a cold drink, and a deep respect for the peace fishing brings.

Together, we kept noticing the same thing: a lot of great gear was sitting unused. In garages, sheds, spare rooms — collecting dust instead of memories.

We tried selling our gear through social media groups.
We haggled in comment threads, chased down payments, packed up items for buyers who ghosted. It was clunky, untrusted, and built for someone else — not anglers.

So we built Recast — the secondhand marketplace for anglers.
A place where gear finds a second life. Where selling is simple. Where buying is safe. And where the fishing community can support each other and the planet, one rod at a time.

We didn’t start Recast to sell stuff.
We started it to make fishing more accessible, more sustainable, and a whole lot less painful.

Because whether you're casting once a month or every morning,
we're all part of the same community.
